Saraki Saved Apc From National Embarrassment –Sen JKN Waku

The leadership of All Progressives Congress, APC, has been advised to embrace and show appreciation to the Senate President, Dr Bukola Saraki, for saving the party from national embarrassment following the absence of APC senators at the National Assembly when the inauguration of new leadership of the upper chamber was taking place.

In a recent programme on channels tv,Sen.Waku took a swipe at some members of the party that have been criticizing the process that le to the emergence of Saraki as Senate President, a chieftain of APC, Senator Joseph Waku, noted that Saraki through his emergence was able to save APC from national disgrace.

“Where were those APC senators shedding crocodile tears now? Were they not to be seated in the hallowed chambers on the day inauguration took place? But they were nowhere to be seen.
“They went for a so-called meeting allegedly summoned by President Buhari – but this was pure falsehood as the president had already given the go-ahead for the inauguration at a time these senators and their sponsors called their own meeting.
“If Saraki and some other patriotic APC senators were not there at the National Assembly that day, PDP candidate could have easily emerged as Senate President because they had more members seated that day than APC.
Calling on those attacking Saraki to stop doing so, Waku said:
“These APC senators have themselves to blame. Although they refer to themselves as members of the Unity Group, but I will like to refer them as members of the Disunity Group. Saraki should be hailed as a saviour and hero of our democracy. He deserve our accolades rather than condemnation.
Urging Saraki to remain focused, Waku implored the Senate President to continue with his work, and not allow himself to be distracted by those he described as enemies of democracy.
While saying that the present leadership of the Senate under Saraki is an ideal one that will serve the interests of the nation very well, Waku urged all stakeholders to cooperate with Saraki in order to move National Assembly forward.
