Former Gov.Suswam's Aide Comes For Sen George Akume.......''Senator George Akume, Leave The Publican Suswam Alone''-Inyom Gideon

 Senator George Akume, recently  advised the immediate past governor of Benue state, Gabriel Suswam, to pray to God for forgiveness for impoverishing the people of the state.
He  gave this advice while playing host to the people of Ushongo Local Government Area (LGA) of the state led by its Chairman, Saint Abraham, who paid him a condolence visit over the death of his elder brother Idyer Akume Dajo at his residence in Makurdi on Sunday.

Gov Suswam's aides and friends find his comments and request abysmal and they swiftly picked on him,yesterday one of his associates Bemgba Iortyom sent his response to Sen Akume ,find his response  ((HERE)    ,then few minutes ago,the former gov's aide (S.A ICT) Mr Gideon Inyom sent his response ,please click to read it.

Senator George Akume, leave the Publican Suswam alone, go remove the log in your eye so you can see better to remove the peck in Suswam's eye." I assume you are excused by the adage that "ityundu i angbain ka idoo mindin tsa" the sore of another brother is broken/pressed with ease (if not pleasure).

“Two men went up into the temple to pray; one a Pharisee, and the other a publican. The Pharisee stood and prayed thus to himself "God, I thank thee, that I am not as other men are, extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this publican. I fast twice in the week, I give tithes of all that I possess." Ordinarily, I would not join issues with the Senator because he is an elder Statesman and a father figure to me and I feel a sense of guilt writing him on this matter in that sense. However, the urge to address my Senator as his constituent makes it imperative to respond to his recent outing on the immediate past Governor as he may have considered his position as an elder, which no doubt he is and I respect and honor. But the import of my response is not that of age but the facts of his representation and service to Benue as a former governor.

I would have loved the adage "let the sleeping dog lie, or still, those who stay in glass houses should not throw stones be the guide to my Senator, but I think the Senator has a conscience too and his conscience poked him to remind himself of the timely advise to his successor, Gabriel Suswam. This is my stake in this matter too, my conscience. After I read His Excellency, my Senator's advise to his successor, His Excellency Gabriel Suswam, I was cut off from commenting because of the high calibre standard status bar of the advise (from a former governor to another). As I laid back to sleep, I couldn't because of the obvious open bare hypocritical advise of my Senator to Suswam.

First as a constituent of Zone B, when you were my governor from 1999 - 2007, I saw a bright rainbow that was to follow the promises of a bright future for Benue viz a viz abridge over the river Benue at the Buruku crossing linking Gboko, Buruku, Ugba, Zaki Biam upto Taraba State, which never saw the light of day despite the many efforts and party advantages you had to write your name in gold to demand a senate ticket based on merit from the Buruku people, my senator this remained a dream till now.

Secondly, taking a peek into the stewardship of your 8 years as governor, the Jemgbagh clan which became a vehicle of competition and rivalry rather than development was birthed during your time as governor. I can not point any help this clannish entity brought to us as a people of Jemgbagh till date. We are worse in it politically, as the Jemgbagh agenda is only resurrected when the votes are needed after every political tenure. Whereas, it is said you can only make the best of two things when you compare them. I feel the Sankera people feel differently about the stewardship of Suswam in terms of projects attracted to their constituency. The Sankera people have the Anyiin - Ugba - Amaafu rd, the Afia - Gbeji - Gbagir - Zaki Biam rd, Amaafu - Abaji rd., Tor Donga -Zaki Biam rd, with over 100 electricity projects as land mark projects credited to this supposed "sinful man" (publican) this roads link Logo, Ukum, Katsina Ala, Vande Ikya, Kwande, Konshisha LGAs whereas your only rd project in Jemgbagh is the road from Wunnune - Tyogbenda which is itself an eyesore, no single road project in the entire Minda axis.

My senator, comparing Suswam's sins to Benue people with yours at a large scale might be the case of comparing grapes to apples but without comparison, doubting Thomas's won't see anything to point at so I will just go on and do Suswam the injustice of comparison with your tenure. I witnessed when in one your first visits to GHM after you left office in 2007 in Suswam's second tenure, you hardly recognized the transformations you were witnessing. I remember this comment from you, "where did you get money from to do all these things?" Referring to the a). reconstructed Governors office, b). the New Governors Residence, c). the Jonah Jang Lodge, d). the new Government House Clinic, e). the New Banquet Hall and f). staff Quarters with a Guest Chalet. I make bold to state that you left that GHM worse off than you met it in 1999, rather you left and built a better living quarters for yourself on Gboko road and that's a no point to seek forgiveness from Benue people but definitely not God as He is far bigger than Benue people and requires your humble prayer of admittance of sin, confession and pleads for forgiveness.

Sen. George sir, you had a chance with Benue people and posterity. You were given the mandate in an era when the economy was not as bad as it is today, you had the luxury of a ruling party Leadership, two Federal ministers and President in the ruling party. These factors did not transform Benue, rather they opened the ground for power play and rivalry to the detriment of the people who gave you their mandate.

Today, people have forgotten the past so soon including the very Kwande people whose waters filled with needless blood bath from innocent people whose only offense was that they asked for their votes to count and have people they desired to lead their local constituency so their plight will be upheld. They were killed in cold blood in return. Yet, your confession has not been tendered in any congregation, rather I have seen your pontification and sainthood as clearly rewarded by the 3 term Senate ticket.

I may have no right of reply to some folks sadly, especially to those that you have replaced the infallible saint who has all solutions to all human needs of leadership. I pity their gullibility and sense of judgement and welcome them to attack and leave the issues herein raised. I urge you sir, not just to seek forgiveness but to bury your head in shame anytime democrats meet and you make sensational speeches upholding democratic practices but will not allow internal democracy in any political meeting you preside over. The plethora of court cases in Benue state against the APC today are a direct consequence of your antecedents.

Senator sir, a just society will weep for your political leadership with such credentials even though I consider you at a personal level as a humane and compassionate leader when on the side of your team, but a ruthless "colossus" who is not to be dared with opposing views.

Honestly, I fear to tell a lie to you not the truth so obvious. I end with a plea that you take a deep breath and a read the Holy Book with the following scriptures; "behold, there is a man named Zacheaus and he was a chief publican, and he was also rich 3. And he sought to see Jesus....seek Jesus like the rich Zacheaus and do what he did in verse 8. Zacchaeus stood up and said to the Lord, Listen, sir! I will give half my belongings to the poor, and if I have cheated anyone, I will pay back four times as much.” Luke 19:8 GNBDC

Let God be the judge not George please. Don't hit up the polity when we are experiencing high profile assassinations and political bitterness at the detriment of development so desired and yearned for. As an elder statesman, the younger generation are reading you carefully and you are a mentor to many aspiring politicians. Hence, your role now is mostly and closely watched. The Tiv nation needs a better representation that guarantees a march or better records of a one Sen. David Mark who has given more than 10,000 of his constituents employment and scholarships. I am certain that the number of senators from both zone A and B together can not and have not marched this envious record, this requires a plea for forgiveness more than any other feat in my opinion.
