President Buhari Orders Relaunch Of National Carrier.

President Muhammadu Buhari has ordered the relaunch of national airline to boost job creation and restore national pride, the ministryof aviation has announced. A committee has been set up to look at whystate-owned Nigeria Airways, as well as many private airlines, have failed, itadded in a statement.

The committee would consult widely, including with foreignfirms, on setting up a national carrier based on a "public-privatepartnership model", the statement said.

Nigeria has had no national carrier since the collapse ofNigeria Airways in 2003 and most of its private airlines are struggling withhuge debts.
