Benue| Aggrieved APC Governorship Aspirants Case Against Gov Ortom Formally Withdrawn At The Fed High Court Abuja.




Following the victory APC's at the Governorship tribunal,there are strong indications that the case filed at the Federal High Court Abuja by some aggrieved All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship aspirants in the 2015 general election in Benue State, challenging the nomination of Governor Samuel Ortom as candidate of the party was officially withdrawn today.

The withdrawal of the case followed the peace initiative by leaders of the APC which led to the resolution of the matter between Governor Samuel Ortom and the petitioners
The presiding Judge, Justice Evo Chukwu struck out the suit following the application for withdrawal by the petitioners, Hon. Emmanuel Jime and Senator J.K.N. Waku.

In a motion for discontinuance of the matter, counsel to Hon. Jime, S.I. Ameh (SAN) had explained that the withdrawal was necessitated by the intervention of the APC National leadership.
In the meantime, the Benue State Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Barrister Michael Gusa, has commended the decision of the former APC aspirants for their show of sportsmanship.
