60-Yr-Old Child Trafficker Busted in jigawa

A suspected human trafficker identified as Hajiya Ladi Dahiru, has been arrested by the Jigawa state police command in Kazaure local government area of the state.

According to The Punch, the 60-year-old was apprehended  on Tuesday, October 20, with 12 young girls below the age of 13 in Kazaure by policemen attached to safer highway patrols.
The state police commissioner, Usman Abubakar Tilli, while parading the suspect and rescued girls said the woman told the police she was transporting the girls to Islamiyya Schools in Kabala Doki, Kaduna state in order to enroll them, which was later discovered not to be true, Leadership reports.
Police investigation also showed that the woman could not take care of the girls as she has only a two room and parlor in Kaduna, selling firewood and food stuff.
According to the commissioner it was also discovered that the parents of the victims, who are from different villages, handed over their daughters to the suspect who fraudulently made them to believe the statement she gave them.
Tilli stressed that the suspect would be handed over for prosecution after the police had concluded their investigation into the case.
In the same vein the Delta state police command has smashed child trafficking syndicates and recovered several babies in Asaba and Onitsha.
Alkali Baba Usman, the state police commissioner, said that operatives of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS), acted on a tip-off about a human and child trafficking cell in Asaba.
