Akume To Deliver 2nd JS Tarka Memorial Lecture At UniLag Main Campus.

                              

Former Senate minority leader, Senator Dr. George Akume is billed to deliver this years JS Tarka memorial lecture.

The annual event is organized by students of the University of Lagos who are of Benue State origin.

The theme for this year's edition of the lecture is "The Change Phenomenon and the Lessons of JS Tarka's Populist ideology".

The event is slated for October 16, 2015 at the main campus of the University of Lagos.
Last years edition of the lecture was delivered by the Head, Department of European Languages, University of Lagos, Prof. Jide Timothy Asobele who is one of the most ardent followers of JS Tarka's political history and ideologies.

Interestingly, Senator George Akume is a relative of the late minority rights crusader and middle Belt champion and happens to be the only kinsman of Tarka to occupy the senatorial seat after the demise of the late icon who died while still serving the nation as a senator thirty-five years ago.

There will also be the unveiling of the maiden edition of The Benue Voice, a magazine of Benue cultural values published by The National Union of Benue State Students, University of Lagos Chapter.
