PDP Plans Ahead Of 2019, Read What The Party Plans To Do



Ahead of the 2019 generalized elections, opposition party, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Thursday, October 15, adopted the recommendations of the post election review committee with its amendments.

According to a communiqué issued at the end of the 67th National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting of the PDP and made available to our reporter, the party agreed to seek its 2019 presidential candidate from the north of Nigeria to enhance its electoral chances.
Also agreed was to engage in biometric registration of members nationwide, support and fight for its candidates in the forthcoming governorship elections in Kogi and Bayelsa states.
The PDP NEC noted and commended the activities of the party’s publicity in its constructive, robust engagement of the ruling party and urged it to continue in that regard.
PDP assured that it will continued to ensure credible, issue-based opposition as well as strict adherence to democratic tenets and the supremacy of the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
The party which once ruled for 16 consecutive years reassured that the re-positioning of the party will enable it regain its preeminence in the polity and return to power at the center come 2019.
Meanwhile, PDP said the party has come to term with shock it had over the loss of power at the centre in the last general election. The party’s acting chairman, Uche Secondus,  who said that the loss had afforded members of the party to do some soul searching, The Nation reports.
Our party has witnessed challenging times after our disappointing loss in the last elections. We moved from pain, despair, soul- searching and now by the grace of the Almighty God, we have started the process of rebuilding confidence in ourselves for a brighter future for the party,” he said.
