Benue State University today,Thursday 22,2015 inaugurated their Radio Station. The radio station was established to provide a platform to engage students and the public on issues of local, national and international importance for the school and state in general .
Speaking during the inauguration ,the V.C,Prof Charity Angya informed guests that the radio station will be run by the students of Mass Communication Department. They will have a first hand experience in the job of radio broadcasting.
She urged the public the patronize the station and help it grow bigger and not to kill the initiative.The station will serve the purpose of training professional radio personnel in the Mass Comm Department, with the aim of broadcasting educational and informative programme.
The National Broadcasting Commission (NBC) granted the licence to the institution under the leadership of Prof. Angya, to operate as '89.9 BSU Radio',
The event was well attended with the incoming VC Prof Msugh Kembe,schools Registrar Dr Utile,Former VC Prof Nancy Agbe in attendance.
