LASG To Commence Construction Of Flyover Bridge In Ajah & Abule-Egba
The Lagos State Government has approved the construction of flyover bridges for two of the state’s high-density traffic zones; Ajah roundabout and Abule-Egba Junction, The Guardian reports.
In a statement issued by Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Mr. Steve Ayorinde on Sunday, December 13, the two major projects were approved by the State Executive Council and have been awarded to contractors for immediate commencement of work.
According to the Commissioner, the project, which is part of Governor Ambode’s ongoing road infrastructure projects across the state, would be completed in 16 months. He said that the construction of the reinforced concrete flyover and signalised intersection at Ajah round about would be undertaken simultaneously with the rehabilitation of Freedom Road in Lekki area of the state.
Lagos State Governor, Akinwunmi Ambode has also confirmed the proposed construction of the flyover in a series of tweets he sent out earlier today.

The flyover, Ayorinde explained was aimed at reducing the heavy traffic being recorded at the Ajah round about and the Lekki-Ikoyi axis. He noted that the Ajah project would ease movement of residents and commuters on the Lagos Island and Ibeju Lekki areas.
Speaking on the proposed Abule-Egba flyover, he said the Abule -Egba flyover would also have signalised intersection under it to service Oko-Oba and other link roads within the axis.
He also disclosed that the state government had also awarded contracts for the rehabilitation and upgrade of strategic arterial/inner roads in Epe Local Government Area of the state.
