[Lalong rocking the stage with the legendary king Tuface Idibia] |
It was an emotional event not just for the people of Jos,Plateau state, but for the artists and guests who turned in mass to watch the electrifying performances by Nigerian artists at the 'Return of the Kings'.The event took place on Sunday Nov 29,2015 in Jos.
Top among dignitaries who graced the event were the State Governor Barr Simon Lalong,Honorable Minister of Youth and Sports Solomon Dalong, other dignitaries present at the event were the APC Chairman of Plateau State and the House of Representatives member Hon Suleiman Yahaya Kwande. Well they didn’t just sit in the crowd all serious and stiff, they showed a few dance moves and rocked the stage with the legendary king Tuface Idibia who’s not just an awesome entertainer but a lyrical poet and youth ambassador always spitting the truth like Fela in his songs.Click to view more pictures.

The concert was a triple success, all Kings billed to perform turned up and thrilled the crowed with hits after hits from all their albums, security was good, and the weather was beautiful. The first King of the night Jeremiah Gyang #Dangata got the crowd up on their feet with a spectacular rendition of his remix of Dan Gata in collaboration with Lyrical Dr Smith, Zumuntan Mata—Women’s choir from ECWA, and the boy’s brigade band.

Second King for the night was J-town’s finest and youngest King of the night “Yung L” who also sustained the effect left on the crowd by his predecessor. The crowd sang along to his hit songs “Give me the lighter and S.O.S.” Watching the crowd from my view beside the stage, you could feel the heat and excitement building up.

Third King of the night and one of my favorites, King Jesse Jags, lone solo as always nailed it and built the tempo from when the Mic was handed over to him, and from there it was hit after hit after hit. There was no dull moment as DJ Lambo of Chocolate City synced with him and lived up the her expectation. You could see skill, and experience at work. Plus did I mention she’s a lady? Yup!!!!!

Then landed the Fourth King of the night, Mr. Incredible as he’s popularly known M.I Abaga Nigeria’s finest and suave rapper. Always on point with his flows, wooing the crowd with bars off his songs. I just can’t stop emphasizing how much of a hit show it was. He had so much love for his birth land he didn’t come alone but sprang up two surprise acts on us, Ginee “Ego” crooner and ever popular “Nigeria jaga jaga” singer “Idrees Abdulkarim.” It really was a night to remember, I’d rather call it a November to remember!!!

And Jos city’s finest host Osama Akponunu 1 kept the event flowing. He’s just what I call the perfect blend, flowing easily with the crowd, with him you never feel left out. His jokes well-flavored.
