Senator Akume Blasts Ex-Gov Suswam For Compromising On Security During Fulani Invasion.

The Nation reports that Senator Akume who spoke on Sunday, December 27, in Gbajumba, headquarters of Guma local government when Governor Samuel Ortom held a Christmas party for his kinsmen, accused the former governor of compromising on security.
The senator who is representing Benue Northwest accused the former governor negligence of security, which he said caused the death of many residents, especially in Guma local government, during the Fulani invasion.
Akume who is the former Senate Minority leader insisted that when Fulani herdsmen were invading and killing residents in Guma, Suswam paid less attention.
The Senator who during the visit donated materials to the victims for their upkeep revealed that he awarded a road contract leading to Gbajumba, but when he left office, Suswam terminated the contract.
Governor Ortom promised the people that his government will eradicate poverty, ignorance and disease.Akume was the former governor of Benue state from May 29, 1999 to May 29 2007. He was the first Executive Governor of Benue state to have completed two terms in office.
