Killer To Be Deported To Nigeria Where He's Never Been
A convicted killer serving prison time in the UK is outraged that he’ll be deported to Nigeria after finishing his sentence as he’s never been to the country!
Junior Bayode was 16 when he was involved in the brutal stabbing of 15-year-old Sofyen Belamouadden.
Bayode is currently serving his sentence after being given 11 years for manslaughter in 2013.
However, the 22-year-old – whose mother is from Nigeria – blasted prison bosses over the decision to deport him when he is released in 2019.
Convicted killer Junior Bayode
Bayode, who was born in Germany and came to Britain aged nine months, wrote to prisoners’ paper Inside Time.
He claimed he is struggling to understand why he is going to be deported.
“I may not have been born here but all I know is the British way of life.
“I have neither travelled nor been to any other country since I arrived in the UK over 20 years ago,” he said.
“My past, my present and my future is firmly rooted in British soil, hence why I am struggling to understand why I have been served with a deportation order to a country I have never been to – Nigeria.”
Bayode’s victim Belamouadden was chased down by a gang of around 20 youths from a rival school and viciously stabbed nine times.
He was killed in 12 seconds in front of stunned commuters in Victoria Underground Station, London, one of the city’s busiest stations
Five trials took place at the Old Bailey, the highest court in England, which resulted in 17 convictions for various offences.
Bayode said the UK Home Office’s “deport first, appeal later” policy was designed to hit migration targets “regardless of human rights.”
“I was distraught when I read on the order that I can only appeal after my deportation.”
Bayode’s case is not the first time that the deportations of Nigerians form the UK has hit the headlines over the last 12 months.
In November last year, over 500 Nigerians were said to have been deported from the UK, however the British authorities said that only 48 people were removed.
The British authorities still plan to deport 29,000 Nigerians from the UK for various reasons.
