PDP Chieftain Who Defected to APC Makes Hilarious Apology Over Derogatory Statements Against the Ruling Party
Former PDP senator, Uche Ekwunife who was sacked by the appellate court for her unconstitutional emergence as a candidate of the party has offered a dramatic apology to the APC over unguarded statements made during the election campaign period.
Senator Uche Ekwunife was a former People's Democratic Party member before moving to All Progressives Grand Alliance. She later defected back to the PDP and now she is currently romancing the All Progressives Congress she had once described as an 'Islamic party and a vomit' .
As she took up membership with the APC, she was taken aback by reporters on her previous statement and she had this to say:
“Please forgive me when I said that APC is an Islamic party, it was a joke. APC is a party for Ndi-Igbo, for Christians and for all lovers of progressive Nigeria.”
Meanwhile, the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Anambra State has confirmed Senator Uche Ekwunife as its candidate for the re-run election to be conducted by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Anambra Central Senatorial zone, later in the year.
Speaking after the party’s executive meeting in Awka, the state chairman, Emeka Ibe, said that Senator Ekwunife is a full member of APC in Anambra, dispelling rumours making the rounds that she is not in the APC.
It would be recalled that the Court of Appeal sitting in Enugu on December 7, nullified Ekwunife’s election and ordered rerun within 90 days.
Ekwunife, who had contested on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), defected to the APC last week.
