Residents of Dubai rallied together in the wake of the Downtown Dubai fire on New Year's Eve by launching a social media campaign to help house those affected by the fire.

The hashtag #NeedAnAddress was kicked off around 10pm local time on Thursday, merely minutes after The Address Hotel made headlines around the world after catching fire.
By the stroke of midnight and the start of the New Year, the hashtag quickly trended in the UAE and had made at least 4,113,070 impressions on the social media outlet, according to analytics by Keyhole.
According to UAE's official news agency WAM, there were 16 minor injuries, one moderate while one person suffered a heart attack. Most of the injuries were due to overcrowding and smoke inhalation at the fire site.
