Ibadan Marital Murder Case Adjourned To March 1.

The case of a female lawyer, Mrs. Yewande Oyediran, who allegedly stabbed her husband to death in Ibadan, Oyo State, has been adjourned to March 1 for mention at the city’s Chief Magistrate Court. This came just as the court was told that the Directorate of Public Prosecution (DPP) in the state Ministry of Justice has released the legal advice on the case.

The police prosecutor, Mr. Amos Adewale, told the court presided over by Mrs. Kehinde Durosaro-Tijani, on Tuesday that the legal advice had been released in the last one week, pointing out that the court has no jurisdiction to hear the case marked MI1539/2016.
Mrs. Oyediran was accused of stabbing her husband, Lowo Oyediran, to death, in their Akobo, Ibadan, residence on February 2.
The accused works with the Directorate of Public Prosecution in Oyo State, a situation that caused fear among the deceased’s family members that the case might be swept under the carpet. But Tuesday’s revelation was expected to allay such fear. The accused was arraigned before the court on February 5 on a one-count charge of murder.
