PDP Names Fmr Borno Gov Ali Sheriff As National Chairman.

The former Governor of Borno State, Ali Sheriff, has been named as the new Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).Mr. Sheriff has allegedly in the past supported and sponsored the activities of Boko Haram, which has ravaged the Northeast region for years.

According to  SaharaReporters ,Mr. Sheriff, who will be replacing Adamu Mu’azu, will only be Chairman for the remaining tenure of his predecessor, other PDP governors supported Mr. Sheriff’s ascent to Chairman.

The PDP Spokesman, Olisa Metuh, also informed the media that there was unanimous approval of Mr. Sheriff by all PDP organs. He added that the decision would be communicated to the PDP Board of Trustees and the National Executive Committee for ratification.
