Angry Youths Attack APC Governor's Convoy Because Of Hardship.
Angry youths in Niger state protesting against hardship in Niger state has Governor Bello’s convoy The youths told the governor that civil servants no longer received their as at when due – They blamed that all the running water from tap had dried up worsening their situation The convoy of Governor Abubakar Sani Bello of Niger state was blocked on Monday, February 29, by angry youths who were bitter over the hardship being experienced by resident in the state.
The youths had spotted the governor’s convoy in the ever-busy Bosso road near the Obasanjo Shopping Centre and rushed to his vehicle making uncomplimentary remarks about Bello’s administration, The Authority reports.
It was learnt that the governor at this point wind down the side glasses of his metallic black Prado Sport Utility Vehicles and had some words with the protesting youths. They told the governor how things are difficult in the state saying that civil servants were no longer paid their salaries as at when due. The angry youths further added most of the water taps in the state had dried up since the governor came into power.
In response to the youth’s allegation, Governor Bello explained that his administration was doing his best to better the life of the people. He promised that things will pick up once the investigation into the financial dealings of his predecessor is completed.
Meanwhile, the Speaker of House of Representative, Yakubu Dogara, had reportedly defended his party over the dwindling of the country. He said that the All Progressives Congress should not be held responsible for the current economic challenges facing Nigeria.
