Benue Groans Under New Revenue Drive.

Benue State residents and businesses are groaning under the weight of a new revenue drive introduced by the Governor Samuel Ortom administration to boost internally generated revenue (IGR).
Championed by the Benue state Internal Revenue Service (BIRS), the revenue drive is characterized by desperation, adoption of unorthodox methods of collection, allegations of arbitrary levies and rate increments, lack of assessment, multiplicity of taxes and collectors, as well as harassment of tax payers.
