Late DSP Alamieyeseigha To Be Finally Laid To Rest.
The burial date of former Bayelsa State governor, Alamieyeseigha has been formally announced despite media insinuations that his death was faked to hinder his repatriation to the United Kingdom for money laundering offenses.
Barring any last-minute change, the first civilian Governor of Bayelsa state, Chief DSP Alamieyeseigha is expected to be buried this Saturday, 26th March 2016 in his hometown of Amasoma in Bayelsa State.
Alamieyeseigha died on 10th October 2015 at the age of 63 at the University of Port Harcourt Teaching Hospital after going into coma for days.
The traditional ruler of Amasoma community and cousin to the deceased, HRH Graham Naingba, had disclosed dates of Alamieyeseigha's funeral rites - March 24 to 26, 2016 - in January 2016 following rumours that the late politician faked his own death to avoid a second prosecution by a London Court.
It is however unclear if the funeral rites will progress this week as there are yet to be funeral announcements in newspapers in honour of the late politician who will be given a state burial as disclosed by the incumbent Bayelsa governor, Hon. Seriake Dickson in October 2015.
