Tarzoor Chides Gov Ortom Over Collection Of Loans.
Dr, Tarzoor who spoke to journalists yesterday in Okpoga, Okpokwu local government area lamented the inability of the governor to pay salaries of workers.
He said it was economically unwise for Ortom to continue to borrow to finance recurrent expenditure regretting the heavy tax burden the governor is imposing on the people of the state.
“With the manner the governor is borrowing, he is mortgaging the future of the State. Who is going to pay these loans. That means our children children would be the ones to do so.
“There is no hope for the State under this government until we switch to someone who has the potentials economically to handle the State, we will continue to be in this situation. Benue is sitting on a time bomb waiting to explode”, Tarzoor said.
The Harvard University graduate also lamented the insecurity in the state occasioned by Fulani herdsmen invasion of communities in the state, observing that government has to be proactive in tackling the incessant attacks.
Tarzoor also enjoined Idoma people to continue to maintain their support for the former senate president, Senator David Mark whom he noted is a respected Nigerian.
Meanwhile, former Senate President, Senator David Mark has urged his constituents to maintain their support for the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP where he said the salvation of Idoma people lies.
Senator Mark who spoke Monday while thanking the people of Okpokwu/Ogbadibo/Ado federal constituency for voting for him during the recent rerun election at the Benue South senatorial district said the votes were not for him but for the progress of Idoma land.
He particularly thanked the youths, women and even All Progressives Congress, APC members who he said voted for him even when he did not come out to campaign, stressing that their action demonstrates their resolve to stand for truth.
The campaign director of Senator Mark and former Minister of Interior, Comrade Abba Moro who was also at the event also expressed gratitude to the people for voting Mark whose abandonment he said would have adversely affected Idoma people.
According to Moro, Senator Mark’s experience over the years made it irresistible for Idoma people to ignore him, stressing, “to abandon him is to abandon Idoma land.”
Other speakers, including the state chairman of PDP, Dr Agbo Emmanuel, PDP gubernatorial candidate in the state during last year’s elections, Dr Terhemen Tarzoor, national and state legislators from the senatorial district also thanked the people for returning Senator Mark against the selfish interest certain Idoma people.
