Catholic priest who died in the hands of his abductors laid to rest at St Francis Cathedral Otukpo . (PHOTOS)



It was an outpour emotion and grief at the St Francis Cathederal in Otukpo, as Rev Fr John Adeyi who died in the hands of his abductors, was laid to rest 26 years and a day after he was ordained a priest .
In a sermon , Bishop of Otukpo Diocese, John Apochi said the late priest faithfully fulfilled his ministry on earth despite his frailty and health limitations.

Bishop Apochi noted that the memories of his service to humanity will remain unforgetable in the minds of many who encountered him, describing his death as a blow not just to his biological family but friends, relations and members of the non- Christian faith.

The burial , which had the SSG in attendance as a representative of the Gov and his deputy, was attended by notable Bishops including that of the Diocese of Lafia Matthew Ishaya Audu, Bishop Williams Avenya, Wilfred Anagbe and over 400 other priest who came to witness the burial of one of their own. Correspondent reports that the heavens poured down rain shortly after the service to wash the river of tears that flowed on this day.
