Senior Special Assistant to Gov Samuel Ortom on Public Utilities and Environment,Mr Nathaniel Ikyur yesterday went round Makurdi city to inspect and access blocked channels causing flooding in Makurdi town...Most of the areas he visited were blocked with sand, plastic bottles and bags.

He disclosed the major water channel around Katsina Ala Street was blocked because of neglected civic responsibilities . Which then causes the torrents of water that flows down the street to spill dangerously into residential and commercial buildings wrecking havoc to residents' goods and properties. He advised people to discourage themselves from acts that dehumanises and causes havoc to the environment,and charged all citizens of the state to let the water channels be free, that way, flooding and such eye sights as seen in this pictures here will not occur. see more pictures.
