His Excellency Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje presided over the mid year Review video conference Meeting on Routine Immunisation MOU with Dangote Foundation and Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.


A three year memorandum of understanding was signed in 2012 between the three partners Kano State government, Bill & Melinda gates foundation as well as Dangote Foundation in an effort to curb Polio virus in Nigeria. By the end of every Mid-year and Year, partners meet via Teleconference to discuss progress so far while states are expected to present their progress reports.

As it is, kano stood the best of its kind in area of vaccine logistics and supply chain, with its vaccine direct deliveries being showcased in Bangkok, Thailand, Turkey as part of its technological break through on last-mile vaccine delivery.

Kano MOU is expected to end this year and the state Government is to take full ownership contributing 100% to the basket fund to ensure sustainability. Kano is the only state that got extension of one year courtesy of its last deliveries mile stone.
