Kemi Olunloyo Deletes all Her Social Media Pages

Kemi Olunloyo has deleted all traces of her on social media. The blogger said she is quitting her hyper-active social media presence to return to a quieter life. “I am deleting all my social media accounts,” the 51-year-old said, adding, “I want to get out of the computer and move into the real life.”

This unprecedented move comes days after Kemi Olunloyo father, the former Oyo State Governor, released a statement, apologising for his daughter’s online activities. “I would like to apologise without reservation to all persons affected. I hope and pray they would graciously accept the apology,” he wrote in his letter to Premium Times.

However, Kemi Olunloyo called the letter ‘fake’ and claimed it was written by her rival. On Twitter, she slammed her father’s claim that she has mental illness. “Anyone who calls me insane or mental patient in Nigeria is a low self esteemed in denial bastard. They cannot deal with the truth,” she said.

But Kemi Olunloyo has seemingly tired of social media and the barrage of criticisms she receives there daily. And now, she compares herself to Jay Z and Beyonce whose online presence is quite limited.

Read her statement:
“I am deleting all my social media accounts. I want to get out of the computer and move into the real life. Thanks for all the love you’ve all given me along the years. All portals Facebook, Twitter, Instagram will be deleted by 2pm.
“If I need to see anything, I will be watching more cable news channels. My fan Whatsapp number is now inactive. I will continue to blog on all my blogs listed on Wikipedia but no social shares. www.hnnafrica.com, www.snitchlady.blogspot.com and www.kemiomololuolunloyo.com.
“You can basically compare me to JayZ or Beyonce who tweet and post like twice a year. This does not affect my fan created club Facebook.com/KemiOlunloyo. I don’t own that page. It was created by loyal fans. This is not a publicity stunt of any kind. This is solely my choice and I am reverting to 1999 when I blogged, made money and Twitter and Facebook etc did not exist.

Thanks to all.”
