Photo News | Benue stands still as Bishop Atule Usuh begins his journey to eternity…July 28th, 2016

The remains of the Bishop Emeritus of Makurdi Diocese, the Most Revd.Athanasius Atule Usuh were removed from the mortuary at Bishop Murray Medical Centre in the afternoon of July 28, 2016 for a brief stopover at IBB Square where he was installed as the Bishop of Makurdi Diocese in 1989. 

The large crowd that gathered to catch a glimpse of the remains of this great father of Benue was reminiscent of the crowd that greeted his installation as the first indigenous Bishop of Makurdi Diocese at the same venue. Mass was celebrated for his soul at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Cathedral and his remains will be buried inside the cathedral on July 29, 2016 after a requiem Mass at IBB Square. Many people from religious to lay faithful have descended on Makurdi town bringing the traffic to a halt in honour of this great servant of God and this eminent son of Benue state. May the souls of Bishop Usuh and Father (Barr) Felix Apine who was buried on July 26, 2016 rest in peace. Amen.
