Borno state Attorney-General wants Sheriff arrested over his connection with Boko Haram


Attorney-General and Commissioner of Justice, Borno state, Kaka Shehu Lawan on Tuesday called for the arrest and prosecution of former governor, Ali Modu Sheriff in connection with dreaded terrorist group, Boko Haram.

The commissioner accused Sheriff of being responsible for the growth of the extremist group.

Lawan spoke at one of the sessions at the ongoing annual conference of the Nigerian Bar Association, NBA, in Port Harcourt.
He alleged that Sheriff encouraged the spread of the group while he was governor of Borno state, stating that his arrested will bring succor to those who have been affected by actions of the group.
