Mrs -Eunice Ortom flags off Adolescents HIV/AIDS prevention programme to sensitive Mothers on the strategies towards achieving the ideals of "Getting to Zero" | PHOTOS.



Sequel to the AIDS2016 Conference organized by the International AIDS Society (IAS) in Durban - South, where resolutions were made towards Ending 🎗HIV/AIDS transmission by the year 2030, Her Excellency, Dr. Mrs. Eunice Ortom, Wife of the Governor of Benue State and Founder, Eunice Spring of Life Foundation (ESLF) flagged off the🏼Adolescents HIV/AIDS prevention programme to sensitize mothers on the strategies towards achieving the ideals of "Getting to Zero".


Phase 1 of the Programme which focuses on Women Sensitization, Counselling and Testing commenced today in Gboko for Participants from Jemgbagh, Sankera and Kwande.

In her flag of remark, Mrs. Eunice Ortom PhD stated that "I am pleased to inform you that I was invited to the International AIDS Conference in Durban, South Africa as UNICEF Children Champion to share our experiences and challenges with global partners in the fight against 🎗HIV/AIDS.

🎗HIV infection among the young people is becoming worrisome and a source of concern.🏼Adolescents constitutes 21% of the Benue population and by 2015, 14,200 adolescents were living with the HIV.

I am happy to announce to you that there is much hope that this 🎗HIV problem will indeed become a thing of the past with effective sensitization of humanity starting from the family unit as a subset.

Today's programme is therefore aimed at stepping down the some of the issues learnt from the Conference the objective of endearing our children to us and to encourage them to own their risk and intervention strategy with view to ensuring that all family members know their health status by fruitful engagement in talks on health education."
