We culled and shared a story published by Nigerian Pilot yesterday about the cancellation of the Benue Cargo Airport Project,the state government denied canceling the project through a statement issued by CPS to the Gov,please read his response here.


"The government is not in partnership with a Chinese company to build the cargo airport. Also the govt did not announce that it was going to do any groundbreaking of the said airport so why should it go giving explanations over something it didn't tell anyone was going to take place in the first place? I am afraid, that newspaper is an unskilled manufacturer of stories.

While some media organisations are doing pretty well, I think others need to hire well trained hands who would not depend on street gossip and beer parlour rumour to write news. It is quite a sad reality we have come to live with but I hope and pray that some of my colleagues who practise yellow journalism as seen in the said story improve as soon as possible.

Nigerian journalists are among the best in the world so reading reports like this paints us in negative light.
