Breaking: Deadly Explosion Hits Philippines

No fewer than 10 persons have been killed in a Friday deadly explosion at a market in Davao city, Philippines. The blast struck in the home city of Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte.
10 persons and scores were wounded, officials said.
Mr Duterte was in Davao at the time of the blast, but was safe and at a police station after the explosion.



A military spokesman told Reuters that the incident took place at a street market outside the high-end Marco Polo hotel in Davao, in the southern Philippines.Presidential spokesman Ernesto Abella, speaking to CNN Philippines, described the blast as an “unspecified explosion”.

“There is nothing definite about it but it has resulted in the death of 10 persons, at least 10 persons, and injury of about 60,” Mr Abella said.
The cause of the blast is not to be ascertained as at the time of filing the report.
