SDGs Strides :GOV Samuel Ortom to Address UN Event On SDGs



Following the achievement recorded by Benue State in the implementation of Sustainable Development Goals, SDGs, Governor Samuel Ortom has been invited by the Inter-Ministerial Committee on the United Nations General Assembly, to address one of the side events at the 71st Session of the UN taking place in New York.

Governor Ortom is to make the presentation on Wednesday next week covering the experiences and lessons learnt in the domestication and implementation of SDGs in the state.

This year's General Assembly of the United Nations has the theme 'The Sustainable Development Goals: A Universal Push to Transform Our World'.

Benue State under Governor Samuel Ortom, became the first state in the country to meet requirments for accessing the 2015 round of Millennium Development Goals and Sustainable Development Goals conditional grants by paying N1.2 billion counterpart funds and execution of numerous health and water projects in communities of the state.

The Governor who will depart the country tomorrow is expected back on the 25th of this month.
