Buhari's Media Aide Goofs Again as German Journalist Corrects Public Blunder

A German journalist, Dominic Johnson has issued a corrective message to the generality of media houses in Nigeria following a misinformation by an online news platform as well as the President Muhammadu Buhari's Personal Assistant on New Media named Bashir Ahmad.

After the dirty drama of plagiarism that has plagued President Muhammadu Buhari's media team recently, his P.A - Bashir Ahmad has goofed again on social media with another act of gross misinformation that has caught the eye of a foreigner from Europe.

Bashir Ahmad impatiently took to his Twitter page to announce the spoils of President Buhari's visit to Germany to meet with German Chancellor, Angela Merkel. Mr Ahmad ambitiously stated that Merkel has earmarked $18 'billion' for the development of the Lake Chad Basin area after assumably obstaining the false report from 'The Cable' online newspaper.

Dominic Johnson swiftly corrected the false report by claiming the proposed fund is $18 million which is simply for humanitarian aid to the region. This has been described as an embarrassment to the state of journalism in Nigeria where reports make headlines and go viral without due investigations by reporters.

Dominic Johnson is a Foreign Editor & Africa Editor of German newspaper TAZ (die tageszeitung) in Berlin - Germany.
