Lagos APC Reveals Plot By Bola Tinubu To Pull Out Of APC

Speaking in a telephone interview, APC spokesman in Lagos called on Nigerians to disregard reports that Tinubu was plotting to ‘pull out’ of the party despite its lingering leadership crisis.

The Lagos State chapter of the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) on Wednesday cleared air on alleged plot by the party’s National leader Bola Ahmed Tinubu to pull out of the APC.

He asserted that “It can never happen”, affirming that “He will not pull out of APC. You cannot destroy a House that you have built. Whatever the problem is, it will be resolved”.

Greennews.ng recalled that the APC leadership crisis ensued at the build-up to the party’s Governorship primary in Ondo State. The primary produce Rotimi Akeredolu as the party’s flag-bearer, against Tinubu’s wish.

Tinubu asked the National Chairman of the APC John Oyegun to resign, accusing him of sabotaging the will of democracy in the State by disregarding the decision of the appeal panel which asked for a fresh governorship primary following investigations that the delegates’ list used for the exercise was tampered with.

Oyegun in his response, described Tinubu’s allegation as ‘baseless and reckless’.

He rubbished the allegation that he overruled the National Working Committee (NWC) vote of “six against five” in favour of cancelling the primary election results and conducting another primary.

According to Oyegun “there was absolutely no meeting which I chaired that voted in the manner alleged”.

The feud between Tinubu and Oyegun was still on as at the time of filling this report.
