Another Aide of Benue state governor remanded in prison for murder.
Three days after Governor Samuel Ortom sacked the Education Secretary of the state’s Teaching Service Board, Edward Pine, for slapping his subordinate, Commissioner for Arts and Culture, Sekav Dzua-Iortyom, was yesterday remanded in prison custody by a Chief Magistrate’s Court 4 Makurdi, presided over by Justice Felicia Ikyegh, on charges of murder.
The commissioner was charged for the murder of Aondosoo Tondo, a lecturer in the Department of Political Science at the University of Mkar, who was also an aspirant in the race for the chairmanship of Buruku Local Government Council on the ticket of the All Progressive Congress (APC).
Following the killing of the lecturer a few months back, Sekav Dzua-Iortyom was fingered as a prime suspect alongside several others, including the Sole Administrator of Buruku Local Government, David Yimam. The suspects were interrogated by the police over the matter, but when they were to be arraigned in court, the embattled commissioner absconded. Luck ran out of him on Monday when security operatives arrested him.
