Benue First Lady,Mrs Eunice Ortom supports family of 3 months old baby born with Cleft lips for his surgery.

UNQUANTIFIABLE APPRECIATION TO WIFE OF BENUE STATE GOVERNOR, DR (MRS.) EUNICE ERDOO ORTOM OVER HER FINANCIAL AID TO 3 MONTHS OLD SAAIOR ORFE AND THE POSITIVE REPORTS OF HIS MEDICAL SURGERY.

The ability of the wife of the Benue State Governor, Dr. (Mrs) Eunice Ortom in reacting to the plight of women, children and the vulnerable in Benue State and beyond is simply commendable. This she has demonstrated at different fora and today was the turn of 3 months old Saaior Orfe who was born with cleft lip. The wife of the governor through her NGO, Eunice Spring of Life Foundation, gave his parents financial aid to facilitate the operation of his lips.

It should be recalled that, sometime ago, I published a story about a boy born with cleft lips whose parents were unable to shoulder the financial implication of his medical operation and who has been fed with difficulty. The father who is a mason made efforts to reach me and I wade in to help them find aid. I wrote articles and opens letters to different quarters for aid.

Little came in which facilitated the location of the hospital that could aid such operation and the sustenance of the hard feeding of the child. Doctors from the Jos University Teaching Hospital (JUTH) through Smile Train an NGO on 14th of November called that an operation had been planed for the baby and that the date was on the 21st and 22nd of November, 2016.

Close as the date for the operation seem, help was not coming and I was left without choice than to write the Foundation operated by the Governor's wife (EUNICE SPRING OF LIFE FOUNDATION) on the 15th of November, 2016. As hopeless as this was, hence the operation was to be on the 21st and 22nd of same month of my writing, help came in through the foundation.

Making the donation today on behalf of the foundation, Mrs. Beatrice Shomkegh, representative of the foundation urged the family to keep faith in God as he was the solution to all things. On his part, Mr. Toy Victor Hemba, Board Member of the Foundation urged the parents of the boy to put the money into judicious use and to see the small boy as their basic concern at hand, as no one knew what the future held for him. The parents of the tragic-boy could not hide their feelings of tearful joy as they had given up on aid to facilitate the little boy's operation.

As at the time of this report, the parents of little Saaior Orfe had already departed Makurdi for Jos where the operation will be conducted and he can be able to feed normal again. I take out time to appreciate the Governor's wife for this uncommon favour and pray God to reward her abundantly and equally give her the heart to do more. No doubt, little Saaior owes you alot now and always ma.
