BREAKING:Plane carrying Brazilian footballers crashes in Colombia
A plane carrying football players from Brazil crashed in Colombia on Tuesday.
The plane that left with 72 passengers, excluding the flight crew, is reported to have crashed on its path to the Medellin international airport.
It was reported that the aviation authorities believe that a few passengers might have survived. The passengers included Brazil’s Chapecoense football team, which was scheduled to play Athletico Nacional for the Copa Sudamerica finals in Medellin on Wednesday.
Colombian authorities were reported to have responded to an emergency after the plane crashed. The Jose Maria airport went on their official Twitter handle and said that there “appear to be survivors”.
