(Photos) Messi’s Statue Pulled Down In Argentina

Lionel Messi’s Statue has been vandalised in Buenos Airies, Argentina with the thieves only leaving his legs and a football behind.

The statue was unveiled in June 2016, days after the Barca star had announced he was retiring from international football after their loss to Chile at the final of the Copa America.

Reports in Argentina have it that the head, body and arms was carted away and the artwork has now been moved for restoration.

Located nearby in the park where the statue once stood are fellow Argentine athletes racing driver Juan Manuel Fangio, basketball player Emanuel Ginobili and tennis player Gabriela Sabatini.
