Lobi Stars Coach, Uwua: My Suspension Because Of Home Draw Uncalled For .

Embattled Lobi Stars coach, Godwin Uwua has expressed disappointment following his three-week suspension by the club, but remains confident he will make a return to the club, Completesportsnigeria.com.

The former Flying Eagles coach was handed the suspension by the management of the club on Monday following the Pride of Benue's 0- 0 home draw with Katsina United last Sunday.

"The move came as a surprise to me. I was in training with the players on Monday evening and some board members came in to break the news to me," Uwua narrated to Completesportsnigeria.com on phone from his Makurdi home on Tuesday morning.

"They told me that I should stay away from the team for three weeks and I ask them 'what was my offence?'  They said it was because we played a draw at home against Katsina United.
"For me, I believe it is uncalled for. We played well in the game against Katsina United and created a number of chances and even missed a penalty.
"If you also check the statistics, we are unbeaten in the last three games and even played a draw against Rivers United in our last away game.
"Some teams have lost more than once at home this season and others have experienced more than that, and have not suspended nor sackes their coaches. So I find  their action very funny."
On his next line of action, Uwua said he will wait on the state government to decide his fate and not engage in war of words with the management of the club.
"It was the governor of Benue State that personally called me to come and handle Lobi Stars and not the board," he added.

"For now, I will stay in my house and wait on the governor to act on the matter."
