A Terrible Accident Occurred On The Mombasa-Nairobi Highway, Leaving 27 People Dead

A bus collided with a tanker at Kambu along the Nairobi-Mombasa highway on the night of Monday 25th April killing 27 people.

The passenger bus, belonging to Buscar company, was on ti’s way to Mombasa from Nairobi when the fatal accident happened. Several other passengers sustained serious injuries.

Police reports say the bus driver was overtaking another vehicle when the accident occurred.

The driver tried to overtake at Kalulu bridge but he saw an oncoming truck.

He tried to swerve the bus back to its lane but it was late, hence the collision. The bus was knocked into a ditch but the truck remained on the road.

This is one of the worst accidents to have occurred on Kenyan roads in recent times.

The driver of the truck and his turn boy survived the crash with serious injuries. Survivors were rushed to Makindu Sub-County Hospital and the Kibwezi Amref hospital. Our condolences to the families of the victims.
