Benue Investment and Property Company Limited (BIPC) have obtained the approval-in-principle from the Central Bank of Nigeria to establish BIPC Microfinance Bank Limited. This is part of Benue State Government’s drive to achieve financial inclusion for, and empower, the people of Benue State at all levels.
BIPC Microfinance Bank Ltd is a State Microfinance Bank and shall provide financial services to Micro and Small businesses/individuals with Headquarters in Makurdi, Benue State Nigeria. The Microfinance Bank is wholly owned by Benue Investment and Property Company Ltd (BIPC).
BIPC Microfinance Bank Ltd seeks to recruit customer focused and performance oriented professionals with strong leadership skills to fill the positions listed below:
1. Head, Financial Control & Administration (Ref: BMFBMGT-01)
The successful candidate shall be responsible for Financial Control, Treasury Management, Administration and People Management.
Technical Competences
• Essential:
- Strong analytic skills. Ability to conduct credit analysis and to think strategically using financial analysis.
- Excellent communication skills. Ability to present financial information effectively to both specialists and non-specialists.
- Candidate must have a strong leadership and people management skills.
- Must have Assets and Liability (ALCO) Management Skills.
- Treasury Management and Risk management skills
• Desirable in:
- Attention to details in business management, quality management and risk management.
- Good understanding of money market operations will be an added advantage.
- Excellent Administrative Skills and good knowledge of Human Resources management.
- Superior Computer Skills.
Behavioural Competences
• Able to relate to others and use interpersonal skills to achieve desired result.
• Able to influence the behaviour and decisions of people on matters relating to his/her job.
• Able to cope with change, to be flexible and to handle uncertainty.

Qualifications/Experience
• An honour BSc (2.1) or HND (Upper Credit) in Management, Finance or Social Sciences discipline from a recognised institution or a relevant professional qualification alongside a degree in any other discipline.
• Minimum of five (5) years working experience in the Financial Control, Treasury or Accounts department of a Financial Institution.
• A recognised professional qualification (or studying towards professional qualification) such as ACA, ACCA, and CFA will be an advantage.
2.Head, Credit & Risk Management (Ref: BMFBHMGT-02)
Successful candidate will be responsible for installing a sound credit risk management process and operating procedures that will ensure quality lending administration, risk management and excellent service delivery.
Technical Competences
• Essential:
- Sound understanding of prudential guidelines with particular emphasis on microfinance banks.
- Strong analytic skills.
- Ability to conduct credit analysis and to think strategically using financial analysis.
- Attention to details in business management, quality management and risk management.
• Desirable in:
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to present financial information effectively to both specialists and non-specialists.
- Candidate must have a strong leadership and people management skills.
- Good understanding of money market operations will be an added advantage.

Qualifications/Experience
• Honours degree (BSc (2.1) or HND (Upper Credit)) in Management, Finance or Social Sciences discipline from a recognised institution.
• Minimum of Five (5) years experience in the Credit & Risk Department of a financial institution.
Special Demands
• Must appreciate the peculiar financial and credit needs of micro enterprises and the poor.
• Must be able to generate growth through credit to micro enterprises and the poor.
3. Head, Internal Audit (Ref: BMFBICU-01)
The successful candidate shall be responsible for ensuring that the operations of the bank conform to the law, rules and regulations governing microfinance banking operations in Nigeria.
He/she must ensure strict compliance with company policies and procedures, and monitor the bank’s internal control systems:
Technical Competences
• Essential:
o Deep understanding of rules and regulations guiding micro finance banking operations.
o Superior computer skills
Behavioural Competences
• Able to cope with change, to be flexible and to handle uncertainty.
• Able to make sense of issues, identify and solve problems and ‘think on one’s feet’.
• Result oriented
• Able to communicate well orally and in writing.
• Appreciable balance and concern for small and Micro entrepreneurs; and be Committed to the Social mission of Microfinance.
Qualifications/Experience
• A good honours BSc (2.1) or HND (Upper Credit) in a management, finance or social Science discipline.
• A recognized professional qualification such as ACA, ACCA, etc will be an advantage
• Minimum of Five years working experience in the internal control department of a financial institution
4. Loan Officers/Marketers [Ref: BMFBSMELO]
Responsible for promoting and cross-selling the bank’s products and services, analyzing credit worthiness and ability to repay, effectively managing their portfolios and ensuring compliance with policies and methodology, including adherence to Client Protection Principles and customer service standards.
He/she shall ensure an overall positive customer experience throughout the loan cycle and high level of customer service from all interactions with the bank.
Main Tasks
• Sourcing for new clients through direct marketing.
• Screening of potential loan clients.
• In-depth assessment of loan applications and preparation of loan proposals.
• Active participation in credit committee activities.
• Monitoring of disbursed loans and loans in arrears.
• Recovery of loans in overdue.
• Assuring long-term relationship (Relationship Management) through high client satisfaction, reaching a high ratio of revolving clients
Qualifications and Key Attributes
• Minimum of BSc. /HND in any discipline.
• Strong self-esteem and confident
• Good analytical and financial skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work with minimum supervision.
• Target driven and result oriented.

• Ability to provide professional services to HIGH NET WORTH CLIENTS.
5. Tellers/Cashiers [Ref: BMFBT]
Main tasks
Tellers shall be responsible for assisting clients with transactions (including cash), ensuring accuracy and compliance with procedures for cash management, cross-selling products and services and providing an excellent customer experience.
Qualifications and Key Attributes
• ND, HND or B.SC level of education.
• Preferred 1 to 2 years work experience.
• Basic mathematics, business acumen and analytical skills.
• Computer literate with data entry experience.
• Fluency in Tiv, Idoma or other local languages strongly desirable.
• Ability to effectively handle customers’ complaints and meet their needs.
• Willingness to relocate to any location in Benue State, Nigeria
• Enterprising and self-driven personality with the ability to adapt and acquire new skills.
• Highly attentive to detail with excellent organizational and documentation skills.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills.
• Must demonstrate a commitment to transparency and integrity.
6. Customer Care Officers [Ref: BMFBCC]
Main tasks
Customer Care Officers shall be responsible for ensuring a quality customer experience, receiving and opening accounts for clients into the banking hall and implementing the front office administrative activities.
• Provide excellent customer service to all current and prospective client, even among peak hours
• Cross-sell products and services to current and prospective clients in the branch and during marketing sales drives
• Provide product and account information to clients
• Identify and escalate service improvement opportunities through client interaction and feedback and ensure successful resolution of customer requests or concerns.
• Recommend prospective clients to Loan Officers and Marketers for initial processing.
• Ensure timely, compliant and customer-friendly account-opening and contract signing processes and assist clients with documentation as needed; provide support on account opening in the branch and in the field.
Qualifications and Key Attributes
• ND, HND or B.SC level of education.
• Minimum 3 years of experience, preferably in banking or retail services.
• Basic mathematics, business acumen and analytical skills.
• Proficiency in Computer Applications Excel /Microsoft Office and data entry skills.
• Fluency in Tiv, Idoma or other local language strongly desirable.
• Oriented towards high-quality and friendly customer-service standards.
• Ability to anticipate, understand and respond to customer needs and an effectively communicate benefits of bank products and services.
• Willingness to relocate to any location in Benue State, Nigeria.
• Highly attentive to detail with excellent organizational and documentation skills.
