The controversial blogger has had a running case for the past three years after he insulted the head of state in a social media post.
He actually referred to President Uhuru Kenyatta as an ‘adolescent president’. He tweeted:
“Insulting Raila is what Uhuru can do. He hasn’t realized the value of the presidency. Adolescent president. This seat needs maturity.”
Well, that didn’t go down so well. The blogger was arrested and charged for disrespecting the president. That was something new given that a lot of people constantly make fun of the president online.

The Director of Public Prosecution (DPP) had ordered the courts to press charges against Alai for undermining the office of the president.
The blogger constantly fought back to have the charges dropped. He went as far as to file a counter suit against the Attorney General and Director of Public Prosecutions claiming his rights had been violated. Finally, he has come out on top
On Wednesday 26th Justice Enoch Chacha Mwita of the High Court directed that the DPP should drop charges against Alai since there were no substantial grounds to proceed with the case. The guy has nothing to worry about anymore. Good for him.
