Habibat Lawan is appointed Acting SGF while Arab Yadam is the Acting DG National Intelligence Agency (NIA)

The most senior Permanent Secretary in the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (OSGF), Dr. Habibat Lawan, has taken over as the Acting Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF).

This follows the suspension of Babachir Lawal by President Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday, over allegation of corruption in contract awards at the Presidential Initiative on the North East (PINE).

Lawal resumed as usual at his office yesterday morning, before moving into the Presidential Villa, where he was served his suspension notice in a meeting with Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo.

Although he claimed he was not aware of the decision to suspend him, it has been reliably gathered that Lawan has take over as the acting SGF.

“Permanent secretary to SGF’s office Dr. Habibat Lawan is the new Acting SGF and Amb. Arab Yadam the new Acting DG National Intelligence Agency NIA.

Buhari has given the Osinbajo-led committee 14 days to investigate the matter.
