The Myetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association, MACBAN has denied
paying the sum of N350 million as bribe to the leadership of the Benue State House of Assembly to substitute the anti-open grazing bill sent to it by the state government.

National coordinator of MACBAN, Alhaji Garus Gololo who made the denial in an interview with LEADERSHIP in Makurdi said the architects of the falsehood are only out to destroy the good relationship the association has enjoyed with the state assembly and the Benue State government.

He described the insinuations as blatant lies and advised the people of the state to disregard the negative speculation that is aimed at creating bad blood among the people living in the state.

“To the best of my knowledge, Myetti Allah has not discussed the issue of substituting the anti-grazing bill with a new one with the assembly leadership. And we don’t have any such money to bribe the speaker to substitute the bill,” Gololo maintained.

On whether he support the anti-grazing bill, the national coordinator of Myetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association said he don’t even know what the bill is all about, stressing that all he know is that the state has no powers to create grazing reserves but only the federal government.
