Obasanjo, Abdulsalam to visit Buhari to ascertain the level of his ill health

 

Three former Nigerian leaders, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, General Ibrahim Babangida (rtd) and General Abdulsalami Abubakar (rtd) on Sunday met behind closed doors in Minna, the capital of Niger State.

The meeting held at Babaginda’s hilltop residence lasting for about two hours.

Obasanjo was received at the Minna airport by Niger governor, Abubakar Sani Bello, who took him to Babaginda’s house.

After the meeting, Obasanjo and Abdulsalam resolved to pay President Buhari a visit at the state House Abuja to ascertain the level of his ailment.

In the meeting, the former leaders expressed concern over the secrecy behind the current state of President Buhari.

They stated that this unhealthy and a threat to national development. He berated the presidential media aide for being economical with facts concerning Buhari's state of health.

IBB would not be accompanying Abdulsalama and Obasanjo to Aso Rock because he is currently ill as well.

All the domestic staff and security staff of General Babaginda and Niger state governor Sani Bello were  excused from the vicinity of the meeting.

At the end of the meeting, the governor also drove Obasanjo back to the airport to his destination.
