Princess Ajudua makes case for sickle cell awareness

To ensure healthy living for the people of Oshimili-North, Delta State, the member representing the area and Chief Whip in the state House of Aassembly, Princess Pat Ajudua, has embarked on an awareness campaign on sickle cell anaemia and its prevention.

Speaking at the free blood group test and medical check-up session, with the theme  Sickle Cell Campaign, Know your Genotype, at General Hospital, Ibusa, with over 5,000 persons in attendance, Princess Ajudua said:  “There is need for us to know our health status. Majority of us, especially those in rural areas, are not aware of their health status due to lack of funds.”

Receiving medicines donated to the hospital on behalf of the management, Chief Matron, Mrs. Paulin Monye, commended Ajudua and her team of NYSC members led by Dr. Asuguo Rhoda, for the gesture while calling on others to emulate such kindness.

The sickle cell anaemia campaign is part of Ajudua’s contribution to her constituency in addition to a bill she sponsored on the floor of the House of Assembly awaiting final reading.
