Re- The Shocking Story of Samuel Ortom in Government House Makurdi-Read Terver Akase's reply to Rev Samuel Gar and what Sam Gar told him.
So yesterday, Rev Samuel Gar posted a very strong article against the Governor of Benue State,Samuel Ortom, and as usual his Chief Secretary, quickly replied .Pls read it below.....
Chief Press Secretary to Gov. Samuel Ortom, Terver Akase Replies Samuel Gar...
You and I have not met but I'm told you are a pastor. If this be true sir, I wish to draw your attention to what the Bible says in:
Matthew 7:1-6
Judging Others
7 “Do not judge, or you too will be judged. 2 For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.
3 “Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother’s eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye?4 How can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ when all the time there is a plank in your own eye? 5 You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye."
Pastor Sam Gar sir, it's interesting to see you assume the role of God to say that His name has been ridiculed in Benue State. Congratulations.
As a man who contested for the office of Governor, Benue people expect to hear not persistent lamentations and attacks on the present administration. The people want to hear how different a governor you'd have been. They are not interested in your daily narratives of how Benue is collapsing. We have heard that for too long. We heard much of it during Aper Aku's administration but today we know better.
On the just concluded council polls, you appear more aggrieved and emotional than the "bereaved" sir. I don't know the political party to which you belong. What I do know is that facebook is not the best court to take your case against BSIEC boss. Seek proper redress sir. That's the way to strengthen our democracy not this dirge you love to sing on social media.
I don't know the level and nature of leadership positions you have held in the past but I'm tempted to conclude sir, that you sounds much like the case of football fans - they see better goal scoring opportunities than the players on the pitch.
"When you want to become a king tomorrow, you do not have a hand in the killing of a king."
And Samuel Gar replied back with this,
Pastor Samuel Gar.
replies CPS Terver Akase
He said!
"Terver Akase. I'm glad you are doing the work for which you are being paid but as a Communications Consultant I can quickly tell you that Governor Ortom does not have a crack Media Team. It's not about replying Critics and Commentators. It's about advancing superior arguments or else you will become reactive and vindictive, both of which are not first line strategies in public engagement. Every serious media professional will tell you that your government does not have a serious Media Strategy. Benue State has never had it. It's beyond Journalism. I quite understand that you are too junior in this profession to understand the intricacies and intrigues of Media Engagement. I have been there for over thirty years!
For you to be thinking whether I'm a Pastor shows how disconnected you are from mainstream Benue society. I'm not just a Pastor. I'm a Christian Leader in Benue State.
I don't want to follow you to quote the Bible because you will be lost. But if indeed you are a student of the Bible, you would have known that Prophets and Pastors are vested with authority to rebuke Kings. Late Archbishop Benson Idahosa was one such Prophet. Tunde Bakare is another. And many others. For your information, I have had encounters with great leaders here and beyond.
For you not to know which Party I belong to also means that you are not doing your job. You ought to know me. Many of my former students and friends are your superiors in this government as they always have been in every government.
For you to find my role as God interesting again shows that you don't know the Bible. Psalm 82:6, John 10:34, Psalm 115:16, Matthew 6:10, and 1 John 4:17 should tell you that I'm just playing my role on earth. Jesus Christ said I SHOULD OCCUPY TILL HE COMES! (Luke 19:13). So, until He comes back, I'm God here! That's a simple truth that you can't understand.
For you not to know that God's Name is being blasphemed in the State is an acknowledgement that you live on the Moon and work in Government House. Or else, your ears are on holiday. When they return, you will know, if you choose to.
For you to say my posts are lamentations is to admit that you have a comprehension problem. Well, let me just say that you don't have time to go through them. I don't engage in empty talk. I have a duty to offer useful and transformational suggestions. And I have given this government much much more than I gave Governors Akume and Suswam.
It's true. You may be too young to know the leadership positions that I have held in Nigeria, more so that you don't know much about Benue's leaders. For your information, I have trained scores of people who are Professors, Vice- Chancellors (serving and retired), top Bank Executives (serving and retired), senior political class in Benue State and Nigeria and much much more. If you don't know such a person in your capacity as Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, then I wonder how helpful you are to your Boss!
For your information, I have helped Governor Ortom many times more than you. You don't have a choice to do what you are doing but for me, it is a personal choice. Yes, I have no reason to pull the Governor down.
Thanks Terver Akase. I have heard about you, and I think you have good prospects if you are mentored well. I appreciate you."
