Suspected thugs allegedly attack protesting BSU Students in Makurdi .PHOTOS

Suspected thugs attacked protesting students of Benue State University in Makurdi today,28 June 2017.The students who were protesting against the continued strike action by their lecturers were however attacked by some thugs believed to be sponsored by some government people.

According to a Facebook user Bem Jabez, who posted the pictures , the thugs attacked the students with heavy weapons resulting in the death of 2 ,Below is his post and pictures.

As a result of the protracted strike embarked upon by staff of the Benue state university with its resultant effect on students and parents, the students through their union leaders decided to stage a peaceful demonstration (which is their right ) demanding for the immediate reopening of the school.
The action which began by early hours of today was greeted by an AMBUSH from THUGS suspected to be APC evil men. The thugs in their numbers wearing ORTOM'S Tshirt were carrying MATCHETS and other dangerous weapons, upon sighting the protesting students , the thugs ran into them MATCHING and hitting others with heavy woods and metals, their action which resulted to TWO deaths issues also left several others injured.
The police who were escorting the protesting students tried their best to intervene but were over powered by the TRAINED THUGS.
While reacting, the SUG president pledged to seek justice for the murdered as well as injured students.
The presence of neither the commissioner on education or the special assistant to the governor on students was felt anywhere close to the arena.
The injured students have since been rushed to the federal medical centre for treatment.
