Abacha’s media aide, David Attah dies at 71

FAMOUS journalist, Chief David Attah, who was former Chief Press Secretary to late Head of State, Gen Sani Abacha, and Gen Abdulsalam Abubakar, is dead. He died in a Jos hospital after a protracted illness at the age of 71. The late Attah, according to his younger brother, Elvis Attah who is the current Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Information and Orientation was Commissioner for Information in Benue State and Group Manager of Plateau State owned Standard Newspaper, Group Personal and Manpower Development in Daily Times. The deceased was also Group Manager, Voice Newspaper and a representative of Ado federal constituency in the House of Representatives. Sympathisers have already trooping to the ex- CPS residence in Makurdi, Benue State, to console his family. Elvis Attah, who described his late brother as a humble gentleman who loved humanity said he died in a private hospital in Jos where he was receiving treatment, about two months to his 72nd birthday.
