About 20 killed, several rendered homeless as flood ravages parts of Suleja, Nassarawa (Photo)
About 20 persons have been reportedly killed due to massive flooding following heavy rainfall between Saturday and Sunday in Suleja, a town near Abuja.
Witnesses said eight members of a household were suspected to be among those who have died in the flood which affected Suleja and Tafa local Government areas of Niger.
The head of the household was said to have survived but his two wives and six children were not lucky.
Many families were affected with household effects floating in the water.
In videos published by Sahara Reporters, houses can be seen submerged in water and residents help each other cross the road to safety using a rope so as not to be drowned by strong currents.

Also some parts of Nassarawa state have been ravaged by serious flood following heavy downpour in the state on Sunday, July 9th.
Many residents of the areas affected have moved their belongings to safer areas. No report of loss of from the flooding.
