Nigerian bikers to propagate through ‘The One Nigeria Ride’ on Independence Day.
Group of Nigerian bikers under the auspices Riders Embassy has concluded plans to stage a commemorative ride on October 1st (Independence) Day to propagate unity among Nigerians in the country.
Abubakar Abdullahi, while addressing journalists in Abuja on behalf of the bikers said that the ride tagged “The One Nigeria Ride” became imperative after series of recent waves of divisive and secessionist sentiments coming from different regions of the country.
“Amidst all of this, many Nigerians remain fervent in our belief in the oneness of Nigeria; that we are stronger together, that progress and development only comes through enduring peace and unity, that our differences is what makes us a beautiful people and our population is what has earned us the position, ‘giant of Africa’.
“We, at Riders’ Embassy believe that Nigeria is a beautiful place filled with opportunities in her unique diversity.
“We therefore intend to use the October 1st Independence Day commemoration of this year 2017 to remind our fellow countrymen across board that this nation is the only one we have to call our own and that unity in diversity is the sure way to achieve the development of Nigeria, an aim that all well-meaning Nigerians yearn to see come to pass.” He said
According to him, their means of spreading the noble message will involve riding with over 100 bikers from different parts of the country in Abuja as they celebrate Nigeria’s 57th Independence Day anniversary.
While calling on fellow patriotic Nigerians and Nigerian Bikers to be part of and support the ride for unity, peace, progress and prosperity of Nigeria, he disclosed that an International Press Conference will be held as part of the activity to mark the ‘One Nigeria Ride’.
“We will bring together hundreds of experienced motorbike and car riders with a belief in the promises of a united Nigeria to use their skills and stunts to ride for One Nigeria, a Nigeria that is for and works for every Nigerian.
“Activities for the One Nigeria Ride include an International Press Conference, the Ride of over 100 bikers from Unity Fountain through Garki and Wuse making selected stops along the way, and back to Unity Fountain where we will be hoisting the biggest Nigerian Flag in Nigeria at Unity Fountain and an after party to round off the event.” Said Abdullahi.
