Nicki Minaj to Testify in Pedo Brother’s Child Rape Trial
Rapper Nicki Minaj proves blood is thicker than water as she prepares to take the stand as star witness for her pedophile brother, Jelani Maraj. Maraj, 39, is on trial for raping his ex-wife’s then-11-year-old daughter in 2015.
Nicki, whose real name is Onika Tanya Maraj, is expected to testify that Maraj’s ex-wife, Jacqueline Robinson, tried to extort her for millions in 2015.
During opening arguments Thursday, Maraj’s defense attorney, David Schwartz told the jury that Robinson attempted to extort Nicki for $25 million.
He claims Robinson told Nicki: “I can make the charges go away for $25 million.”
Schwartz also claims Robinson tricked Maraj into marrying her so she could get her hands on Nicki’s money.
Prosecutors told the court the girl’s younger brother, then 8, told child services officials he had been beaten after walking in on Maraj having sex with his sister in a spare bedroom at their family home.
The accusations were reported to police, who executed a search warrant on the house and found a pair of the girl’s pajama bottoms with Maraj’s DNA.
“He had sex with that 11-year-old girl sometimes four times a week,” Assistant District Attorney Emma Slain told jurors.
However, Schwartz insists Maraj was targeted by Robinson, and was set up so she could allegedly blackmail the “No Frauds” hitmaker.
Schwartz hopes to exonerate his client by accusing the child’s mother of extortion. But the Prosecutor’s office has solid evidence against Maraj.
Maraj faces 15 years to life in prison if convicted.
